The Canadian Firearms Safety Course

You need a firearms license to go hunting, target shooting, inherit and even just to collect firearms.  You are required to pass this course before you are able to apply for the Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).  This course provides you with all the information you will need to pass your written and practical tests.  More importantly it will give you the skills to handle firearms safely.  I will also pass on pointers I have learned over the years to make your time with your firearms more enjoyable.

Upon receipt of your prepayment I will give you a link to the manual for pre-study.  Don't purchase or print manuals as they are offered free online. I also provide hard copy loners for the course.

There are 2 types of PALs and there fore 2 Courses .  One is for the Non-Restricted PAL (common rifles and shotguns) and one is for the Restricted RPAL (short barreled rifles, shotguns and hand guns).

I teach the Non-Restricted Course on Saturday and the Restricted on Sunday. The class starts at 7:45 am sharp both days and runs until approximately 7 pm Saturday and 5pm Sunday.  Non-Restricted (hunting rifles and shotguns) classroom work and written tests are on Saturday.  The practical tests for those doing only the non-restricted are on Saturday (will go past 6pm and get you done in one day) and those also doing the restricted are tested on Sunday morning.  The restricted (hand guns) is started after the non-restricted testing is done, at about 9:00 am.

THE COST IS $360 FOR BOTH OR $230 FOR JUST THE NON-RESTRICTED.   Just the restricted is $180 if you have your PAL.
The price includes testing fees and taxes.

The 10 spots are booked by prepayment. First one paid gets the spot and they can fill up quickly.
When is it?

Send me an email to confirm availability and I will provide payment information. I will respond to you after I receive the payment with confirmation and more info.

Students may postpone their course date ($50 fee) in the event that an emergency comes up and if I am given time to find a replacement. I can usually do this in a few days but depends on time of year and demand for the course. However if it is too late and I can't find a replacement, the prepayment is forfeited.
